Ben Stillah and Poroko

Image

Hi. It’s me Vanilla Bean. While the elders of my pack chill out for an afternoon siesta, I act as the pup-nanny of the little squeekers. It’s a huge responsibility for me because the job requires alertness, focus and fast feet. Moreover, I have to keep them out of trouble and to teach them mischief fun.

Let me give you an update on the boys – Ben Stillah (barely three months old and the oldest among the batch) and Poroko (two months old and the youngest puppy). Both are curious of the big wide world; they spend most of the fun time exploring with their mouths and noses.

Ben Stillah likes to play with chunks of charcoal.  He doesn’t even mind the soot on his coat…

Poroko prefers the chunks of coconut husks to attract attention from the humans…

…and like me, they wage war against the broomstick…

my unexpected kitteh guest

Image

Hi. It’s me, Vanilla Bean.

Most of the dogs I meet in the blogosphere have kitteh-stories to tell or live with mean/adorable meowing housemates. So, I’m trying to convince the other gals that having a cat around is handy and cool. However, they often give me that are-ya-serious?-look as if I’m missing something impawtant… sigh

So for the meantime, my kitteh-tales would revolve around strays… No problem inviting them in because I’m the gate watcher and our place seems to be a magnet for homeless cats… like this latest feline visitor…

me barking/attending to the stray the little kitteh at the porch

…the poor thing has little energy to make an audible sound; he’s so hungry that he dives in with gusto on the left-over rice at a food bowl. Meanwhile, I’m barking at him for an invitation to play chase with me… and he turns his face toward me with this look…

Why do kittehs keep giving me that look? He is my second stray and he, too, expresses that he doesn’t want to play with me… (Ya could view my first stray kitteh encounter here.) I keep barking at him until Keanna decides to check on us, shushes me and gives him a deadline. to scram…

Keanna: eat and then leave in peace... you have 10 more minutes...

[Keanna explains that visiting cats or strays are ok but a cat-pet is definitely a no-no; another pet would mean minus minutes of Twinkle-bonding... ] Oh no… another missed fun-chase oppurtunity… Would you kindly tell me what I did wrong? Why did the kitteh turned down my invitation? Here’s the video of my second stray kitteh encounter:

Monday Mischief: pups’ play

Image

Hi. its me Vanilla Bean.

Among the ShihPoo litter, the 2 cute brothers keep mum-Princess very busy. I often notice that she gives the puppy Uggie more nips than his litter-mates (that’s what she did to me when I was their age). However, I observe that brother Ben Stillah is more mischievous than Uggie… but he seems to get away from mum’s nipping…

See these promising little mischief makers in action. Here’s the video:

…more puppy photos…

someone has to teach this pup a game of fetch

Monday Mischief: messy eaters

Image

Hi. It’s me, Vanilla Bean.

Dark clouds and occasional rain showers made our internet slow as a turtle last Saturday… tropical depression or something cancelled my walks, too. But the real reason I was unable to post something was… big momma banned me inside the house because I soiled the furniture on purpose.  :-( (my overseer won’t allow the photos posted… to eyyyewwww.)

Twinkle remarked that I was “jelly belly” (that’s her description for someone experiencing a a mild jealousy thing)… me jealous?!… hmpf… Well what to do, their attention were on those furballs… I got away this morning at the slightest opening of the gate (without my collar!) but Kenji caught up with me before I got to the end of the block…aggh

"bad doggy," Kenji told me as he carried me back home...

Meanwhile, Twinkle gave porridge to the squeeker-pups for breakfast; they looked funny with their messy fur and faces…

what ‘dya mean I look the same last year?… ohh yeah…maybe….

my proud dad-Butchok looks on while mum-Princess cleans up the litter...

Still photos say much… but I thought their first milky-porridgeexperience is better in video…

A noisy welcome

Image

What a day I’ve been through…the people of Tubod really welcome the year with a noise barage…too noisy and filled with excitement…I guess most folks around here still believe what they’re doing kept away bad luck…hmm Anyway, Cassie gave ma a lick for not wetting the floor or furniture while enduring the hour long booming sounds…yep..and I got a tennis ball for my good behavior…yay! Here’s our video:

Hello 2012!

Image

We could feel the excitement of our neighbors as our town prepares for the 2012 countdown — they are firing up their firecrackers five hours before midnight… (I really pray that we have zero accidents here…as those silly humans tend to be clumsy.)

Anyway, us pooches are temporarily relieved of our guard detail  as we seek sanctuary inside the house… me and Keanna are really scared of the booming noises… Cassie could tolerate the thunder-like sounds but she’s put off by the scent of the atmosphere (firecracker-smell is blahhh) … My mum-Princess tends to her helplessly cute five new pups…yup…they all look so small and they also make noises like my squeaky toys…(The five pup-squeekies popped out from mum last December 20…) Here’s the video of their first hour of their lives:

Meanwhile…we say ruff…ruff (bye 2011)  until midnight… care to join us? we aroooo the coming of the new year (hello 2012)…

happy new year to all pets

We wonder what our friends from around the world are into this moment…so we’ll check them out in a blog hop…

Playing with a rugrat

Vanilla Bean manages to sneak into the room where EJ and Kenji keep their after-school toys. Among those stuff (broken robots or cuddly toon characters), the ShihPoo choose the carrot-haired Chuckie, the rugrat as her new object of attention… watching her treat the ragdoll like that makes me rethink of dying my hair red or orange… I guess she doesn’t approve of flaming heads…

what i’m saying is…

Aside

Do you speak dog? If so, could you please me what Butchok the ShihPoo is saying… I could only guess what he wants such as:

  • a. ”i want my mama Lin”;
  • b. “i wanna play with Princess”;
  • c. “how ’bout some belly rub, cuddle or tussle…”;
  • d. “got some treats?”;
  • e. “let me in…”
  • f. “sheesh…Cassie is bossy…”

but… then again, I may be lost in translation…
