Our June 12 is quiet

June 12, 2012 — Despite the bad weather, today is a special day for the Filipinos as the nation celebrates the 114th Araw ng Kalayaan (Philippine Independence Day). Some areas (who are fortunate to have a sunny day) are in festive mood with all those fancy colorful parade/motorcade and ceremonies going on.

Here in Northern Mindanao, we’re experiencing a “shallow low pressure area” with the grey clouds threatening to wet on us anytime of the day. (yep…this is really going to be a static day for us pooches…)  hmmm… We wait on our favorite table for the local folks to parade in our street but for some reason the Banana Town seems to opt for a quiet celebration… okay… maybe we’ll just watch this celebration on TV later…

Happy Independence Day, Philippines!
